Facelift Surgery

Facelift & Temple lift

“Facelift surgery can be divided into specific areas that the patient wants to address. It is a surgical procedure aimed at achieving a more youthful appearance by tightening the skin and reducing sagging, correcting issues like drooping eyelids, eyebrows, and deep wrinkles. The specific areas that can be addressed include Temple lift, Eyebrow lift, Cheek lift and Neck lift

The surgeon will use a method to lift the SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System) layer of muscles to address these issues. In the case of localized surgery, the procedure takes about one hour, and patients are advised to rest at the clinic for about 2-3 hours until they recover sufficiently to go home.”

Detail

Preparation Before Surgery

1. Health Assessment: Ensure to check your health status to evaluate any underlying diseases that may not show symptoms, especially in patients at higher risk, such as those of advanced age or with a family history of conditions like hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, or bleeding disorders that can lead to excessive bleeding or prolonged bleeding.
2. Avoid Smoking: Refrain from smoking for at least 2 weeks to 1 month before and after surgery. The chemicals in cigarettes can damage cells that repair wounds and reduce blood supply to the surgical area, increasing the risk of slow healing and infection.
3. Avoid Alcohol: Abstain from alcohol for 2 weeks to 1 month before surgery.
4. Avoid Certain Medications: Refrain from taking pain relievers or anti-inflammatory medications before surgery, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, to minimize bruising from blood pooling after surgery. If pain relief is necessary, paracetamol is recommended.
5. Avoid Supplements: It is advisable to refrain from taking any vitamins or supplements, as these can cause prolonged bleeding.

Post-Operative Care for Temple/Facelift

1. Sleep Position: Keep your head elevated for about one week to help reduce swelling.
2. Avoid Activities: Refrain from any activities or exercises that might impact the surgical area for about 2 weeks, and avoid getting the area wet for 7 days before stitch removal.
3. Cold Compress: Apply cold packs to the face for the first two days after surgery to effectively reduce swelling, and then switch to warm compresses until the swelling subsides.
4. Dietary Restrictions: Avoid spicy, hot, fermented foods, alcoholic beverages, and smoking for one month.
5. Hair Washing: You may gently wash your hair 2-3 days after surgery, ensuring that water does not directly hit the surgical area.
6. Follow-Up: Schedule an appointment with the doctor for stitch removal after 7 days.
