IPL ( Intense Pulse Light )

IPL is a light treatment with a broader wavelength range than lasers, spanning from 420 nm to 1200 nm. Unlike lasers, which emit single-frequency light, IPL releases broad-spectrum light in multiple wavelengths simultaneously. This characteristic allows IPL to treat a wide range of skin issues in a single session. Skin concerns on the face, such as wrinkles, large pores, acne, melasma, freckles, and redness, all require different wavelengths. However, IPL can address these issues across its wavelength range with lower light intensity than a laser.

IPL Procedure Steps

• Preparation: The doctor cleanses the treatment area and applies a cooling gel or numbing cream for about 30 minutes. Clients wear protective eyewear to prevent any risk from IPL light exposure.

• Treatment Duration: The session takes around 15-30 minutes, depending on the size and area treated.

• Post-Treatment Care: Clients can resume regular activities right away. The treated skin might show slight redness or feel mildly irritated, similar to a sunburn, for 2-3 hours, and some clients may experience mild swelling for 1-2 days.

Hair Removal: Typically requires 6-12 sessions every 1-2 weeks for optimal results.

Skin Rejuvenation: Usually requires 3-6 sessions every 1-2 weeks to achieve the desired outcome.

Post-IPL Care

• Use gentle products on the treated skin for about a week.

• Avoid sun exposure for 2-3 weeks (use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors).

• Avoid hot compresses or warm water on the treated area until it has fully healed.
