RF Firming
Removing Excess Fat
RF (Radio Frequency): This is a treatment using high-frequency radio waves, specifically in the range of 0.3 – 0.5 MHz (megahertz), which is considered a safe frequency range.
RF works by delivering energy in the form of gentle electrical currents through the upper skin layers to increase the temperature of the deeper layers of the skin. This process enhances blood circulation, lymphatic flow, and body fluid movement, stimulating energy transformation from within. The body temperature increases by approximately 3°C to 5°C during the treatment. This method is very safe, as the body temperature is elevated but does not exceed 42°C.
The RF treatment improves the blood circulation in the treated area, dilates blood vessels, and enhances the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid. It also helps eliminate waste from the body through sweat and the lymphatic system.
Details
The functioning of RF (Radio Frequency) affects the skin at 3 levels:
1. Epidermis: This is the outermost layer of the skin. RF stimulates the proliferation of living cells in the epidermis, helping to shed deteriorated skin cells. This process can reduce acne, blackheads, and some types of pigmentation, leading to smaller pores and diminished scars from acne (including pits and dark marks), as well as fine lines. Consequently, the skin appears brighter and smoother. RF can also improve wrinkled areas, such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and neck folds.
2. Dermis: This is the layer of skin beneath the epidermis. RF stimulates the collagen found in this layer, promoting the production of collagen and elastin fibers. This results in tighter, firmer skin, reduced forehead lines, flatter under-eye bags, and shallower nasolabial folds. The jawline and chin become more defined and taut.
3. Subcutaneous Fat: The radio waves help dissolve fat in this layer, allowing it to be absorbed through the lymphatic system beneath the skin. This reduces fat without the need for surgery, especially in younger individuals who do not yet experience muscle sagging. As a result, the face looks more contoured and slim, and other body areas may also appear tighter.
Benefits of Continuous RF Treatments
– Youthful Lift: Helps to tighten the skin, making it appear more youthful while reducing wrinkles around the nasolabial folds, frown lines, and crow’s feet.
– Smoother, Firmer Skin: The skin becomes smoother and firmer.
– Smaller Pores: Helps to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores.
– Tightens Sagging Skin: Tightens loose skin around the jawline and chin, enhancing facial definition.
– Stimulates Collagen Production: Promotes the creation of new collagen, resulting in a brighter, more radiant appearance with a healthy flush.
– Increases Metabolism: Accelerates fat metabolism in the body and stimulates the elimination of waste through sweat and lymphatic drainage.
– Reduces Fat and Cellulite: Aids in the reduction of excess fat and the appearance of cellulite.
– Relaxation: Provides a soothing experience, as the skin feels warm during the treatment.
Precautions for Those Considering RF Treatments
– Avoid Skin Irritation: Prior to RF treatment, avoid activities that may irritate or thin the skin in the treatment area, such as squeezing pimples, exfoliating the face, or excessive sun exposure.
– Menstrual Cycle Consideration: It is not recommended to undergo RF treatments during menstruation or within three days before or after your period.
– Sensory Loss: Individuals with loss of sensation or impaired sensation should exercise caution.
– Kidney Issues: Those with kidney disease or blood circulation disorders, such as hypertension, heart disease, or blood disorders, should avoid RF treatments.
– Pregnancy and Postpartum: Pregnant women and those who have given birth within the last six months should not undergo RF treatments.
– Seizure History: Those with a history of seizures should be cautious.
– Inflamed or Healing Areas: Avoid RF treatments on areas with inflammation, abrasions, or surgical sites that have not fully healed (less than six months post-surgery).
– Pigmentation Concerns: Not recommended for individuals with melasma, as heat from the treatment may stimulate melanin production.
– Remove Metal Objects: Always remove metal devices and jewelry before treatment, as they can interfere with the transmission of radiofrequency waves.
Post-RF Treatment Guidelines
Immediately after the procedure, the skin in the treated area may appear slightly pink or red due to the dilation of blood vessels supplying that area, which will subside on its own. After that, you will feel that your skin is firmer.
Within 24 hours post-treatment, it is advisable to drink plenty of water, averaging about 3-4 liters, to help flush out any accumulated waste from the body as quickly as possible. On the following day, aim to drink at least 2 liters of water daily.
Frequency of RF treatment
You can receive the service 1-3 times a week continuously until you complete 10-15 sessions, with each session lasting 10-60 minutes depending on the treatment area.
